My name is Josh Kelley I am the photographer, social media lead and tech at Crow's Feet.  I am a recent convert from being a snowboarder of 20yrs to now calling myself a skier. I demoed lots of skis last year from the shop and found that the Black Crows Navis Freebirds spoke to me like no others did.  I wanted a "One Ski" that does it all with a emphasis on touring. The Navis Freebird has long classic camber underfoot with extensive ski/snow contact for alpine-style turns. At 102mm underfoot its a ski that can be right at home on hard packed or deep powder.  It's Freebird or  "touring" construction gives it its lightweight feel on the uphill but its flex pattern and added titanal plate underfoot helps drive the ski on the gnarliest of descents.  I have paired the Navis FB with the G3 Ion bindings and Dynafit Hoji Pro Tour boots.  It's important to have a balance of boot/binding/ski weight and flex.  The Hoji Pro Tour boot has one of the largest lasts Dynafit has ever come out with and the new one lever switch to go from ski to tour mode, making transitions extremely quick.  With a 120 flex and the "speed nose" technology (bringing your pivot point closer to a natural stride) to me this is the ultimate do everything setup.  I have skied 50+ days in the resort in the past 2 years on this setup and can tell you, lightweight does not mean loss of downhill performance. If your looking to have that backcountry setup that can handle anything you throw at it check out the Freebird lineup from Black Crows. They have quickly become a shop favorite and go-to skis for the spring season.  We also demo most models through our online reservation platfrom AWAYCO
