Updated HRs and Response to COVID-19

Hello Friends and fellow humans.

What a wild world that we are living in right now, eh? As this particular strain of flu (I hate to use the actual name as it causes anxiety even further), I personally want you to know that we are doing our best to provide you with an outlet, A DISTRACTION from the hardships, drama, anxiety and depression that is unfolding around us. A distraction that is filled with joy, happiness, cleanliness, excitement and most importantly doesn't require a smartphone or computer to give you a little reprieve from the constant news feed updates and scheduling of children.

I created Crow's Feet six years ago with one solitary goal. To bring the outdoor (cycling and skiing) community together. To create a gathering space to share both information and high-fives over a nice cup of coffee or your favorite libation. Before opening the shop, I was a professional ski, mountaineering and cycling guide. My profession was (and is) to provide an outlet for people to accomplish goals in the outdoors. Whether that be climbing to the top of a mountain, immersing yourself in nature or spending time with friends and family.

We have a long mountain to climb and the only way that we can do it, is one step at a time. One moment at a time. But like climbing a mountain, we have to be cognizant of the hazards around us. The persistent weak layer in the snowpack, the rockfall overhead or glass up ahead on the road.  We always need to have our head on a swivel.

With that, I feel that Crow's Feet can mitigate these hazards and still provide you with an outlet, and perhaps a new experience during these uncertain times. We know that for many people their bike is their only means of transportation and they need a shop to rely on.

To decrease my employees potential exposure, we have gone to a shortened schedule of hours open to the public. Please note that we are opening 12:00pm to 6:00pm. We have mechanics and staff working early hours in the day to get our repairs out in a timely manner, but please adhere to our operation hours. Additionally, we have gone to a smaller staff to limit their potential exposure as well, so we appreciate your patience in assisting our community.

If you choose to walk in the door of our shop, please know that we have taken all the necessary precautions, following Oregon's recommended guidelines for sanitation. We ask that you give our employees distance when talking to them and know that if they don't want to assist you with a boot fit, it's not because they don't like you, they are just doing their job safely.

Starting Saturday we will have a repair stand set up outside on our patio to help any rider with anything they might need. Quick tire change, air, wash station, etc.....we are right at the base of Skyliners Rd, so come visit us....from a distance.

Additionally to providing a cycling outlet in town, we still have a great collection of ski touring rentals and equipment to get you the fresh, mountain air that we all desperately need right now. It is obvious to state that you should exhibit caution while partaking in an excessive amount of activity, as not to burden our healthcare system further.  But again, this is hazard mitigation....use your brain!

From all of us at Crow's Feet, remember that we are all in this together. We can forego the high-fives in exchange for an enthusiastic eyebrow lift, we'll forego the handshake in exchange for looking you in the eye in saying that we can get through this....for however long it takes.

Get outside while you can and enjoy what Mother Nature still provides. A nice, warm comforting hug.

Be well,
